Order cutoff times and ETA: how our delivery runs in Calgary
The quick version
Our delivery runs in timed waves across Calgary. Most orders arrive in 45 minutes to 2 hours. If you place your order after 10:00 PM, we hand it off after the store closes at 12:00 AM (midnight). At the door, be ready to show government-issued photo ID and the same credit card used to pay online. We do not leave packages unattended or with neighbours.
What “ETA” means on your order
When you check out, we confirm your address and give you an estimated time of arrival (ETA). The ETA covers the whole delivery window—45 minutes to 2 hours—and we work to beat that when the roads and queue allow it. If traffic, weather, or access issues add time, we’ll update you by text or a quick call.
Cutoff times explained
We keep the menu open late so you can order when it fits your night. Here’s how timing works around closing:
- Before 10:00 PM: your order joins the current run. Most handoffs land inside the standard 45–120 minute window.
- After 10:00 PM: we still accept delivery orders. Those orders are delivered after we close, with handoffs starting 12:00 AM (midnight).
- Edge cases: if a severe storm or road closure changes our plan, support will call or text to set a new window or move the order to the next day—your choice.
Why delivery is a range, not a minute-by-minute promise
Calgary is a large city with fast-changing conditions. ETAs vary because of:
- Distance and zone. Your address sits in a delivery zone with a set fee. Zone distance affects drive time. When you enter your full address at checkout, the system selects the right zone and shows the fee before you pay.
- Traffic flow. Rush hour, event nights, and collisions slow runs. We never ask drivers to speed or take unsafe shortcuts.
- Weather. Snow, ice, and heavy rain extend routes. During storms we lengthen ETAs and send updates.
- Building access. Missing buzzer codes, closed parkades, or elevator delays add a few minutes. Adding clear notes at checkout keeps things moving.
- Order batching. To keep fees reasonable, a driver may carry several orders on one loop. Your exact handoff time depends on where your stop sits on that loop.
How to get your package sooner
- Order earlier in the evening. If you place the order before prime time, you’re more likely to land in the next run.
- Add complete address details. Include unit number, buzzer code, and any door or parking notes such as “use the west entrance” or “visitor parking in the rear lot.”
- Keep your phone close. If the driver calls with a quick question, a 20-second chat can save a 20-minute loop.
- Have ID and card ready. The handoff is fastest when you have both in hand at the door.
- Choose pickup if you’re nearby. If you’re already out, a quick pickup can beat the clock. Place a pickup order online and swing by when you get the ready text.
Late-night handoffs (after 10:00 PM)
Orders placed after 10:00 PM are delivered after we close, starting at 12:00 AM. The exact time depends on your zone, weather, and how many late orders the city generates. Tips to make late deliveries smooth:
- Turn on your ringer. Many buildings are quiet at midnight; drivers call first to avoid missed buzzers.
- Meet in the lobby if needed. Some buildings lock interior floors late. Bring your ID and the same payment card to the lobby handoff.
- Use clear notes. “North lobby,” “call on arrival,” or “garage entrance from 3 St NE” help a lot at night.
What to expect at the door
We must verify the person who placed the order. Have two things ready:
- Government-issued photo ID showing you’re of legal age in Alberta (18+).
- The same credit card used to pay online. The name on the card must match the ID. We cannot release the package without both items.
We do a quick visual check of your ID and confirm the last four digits on the card match the order. No photos are taken at the door. If you prefer, meet the driver at the lobby or entryway to keep the visit brief.
Redelivery and missed connections
If the driver cannot reach you (no answer at the buzzer or phone), they will try again shortly. If we still cannot connect, support will call to reschedule. A redelivery fee may apply because the driver has to make a second trip. The easiest way to avoid this is to keep your phone nearby and have your ID and card ready.
Apartment, condo, and hotel tips
- Apartment/condo: always enter the buzzer code and unit number at checkout. If your intercom is down, note “call on arrival.”
- Townhouse complexes: add landmark clues such as “end unit by visitor stalls” or “brown door facing 52 St NE.”
- Hotels: most hotels prefer lobby handoffs. Add “lobby meet” and the hotel name in the notes. Bring your ID and the same card used online.
Winter delivery: small actions that help
Calgary winters can change the plan. Here’s how to keep things moving when it’s cold or snowy:
- Clear instructions: snowbanks can hide unit numbers—mention a landmark or colour (“blue door,” “unit facing the playground”).
- Answer quickly: drivers try to minimize time outside in the cold; a fast pickup makes a big difference.
- Porch lights on: a lit address speeds the handoff and helps drivers stay safe.
Tracking updates and contact
After checkout, watch your phone for order updates. If something about your address changes (gate code, elevator issue, or a closed entrance), reply to the text or call the shop so we can pass the note to your driver.
Fees and zones recap
Delivery fees are set by zone and appear at checkout after you enter your address. The current fee table is:
- Zone 1: $8.00
- Zone 2: $12.00
- Zone 3: $18.00
- Zone 4: $12.00
- Zone 5: $15.00
- Zone 6: $20.00
- Zone 7: $30.00
- Zone 8: $40.00
If your address sits near a zone border, place the order and we will confirm before the driver leaves.
Common questions
What if my order seems late?
Check your phone for an update. Storms, collisions, and building access can add time. If you are concerned, call the shop and we’ll look up your driver’s loop.
Can someone else accept my order?
No. We must verify the person who paid online with matching ID and payment card.
Do you deliver to workplaces?
Yes, as long as your workplace is inside our service area and building policy allows deliveries. Add entry notes and a contact number we can call on arrival.
What if my address is hard to find?
Add landmarks at checkout. If the driver still can’t spot you, they will call. Meeting at a corner or lobby can speed things up.
Is pickup faster than delivery?
Often, yes—if you are already close to the shop. Place a pickup order online, wait for the ready text, and bring your ID.
The bottom line
Order early, add clear notes, keep your phone on, and have ID plus the same payment card ready. Most deliveries land inside 45 minutes to 2 hours, and late-night orders placed after 10:00 PM are handed off starting at 12:00 AM. If weather or traffic complicates the plan, we will update you and make the handoff as smooth as possible.
