Why we check ID and your card

We deliver only to adults of legal age and only to the person who placed the order. At the door we verify two things: your government-issued photo ID and the same credit card used to pay online. The name on the card must match your ID. This protects you from fraudulent charges, keeps minors from receiving products, and keeps our service compliant with provincial policy and our own store rules.

Legal age in Alberta

In Alberta, the legal age for buying, possessing, and consuming non-medical cannabis is 18+. Retailers must verify age, and provincial policy expects staff to check valid identification whenever age is in doubt (many stores use a 25-and-under standard at the door). For delivery, we go further and check everyone at the handoff so there is no confusion.

What counts as valid ID

Bring one of the following:

• Alberta driver’s licence or other Canadian provincial/territorial driver’s licence
• Canadian passport
• Government-issued ID card with a photo and date of birth
• Secure certificate of Indian status
• Canadian military ID

ID must be current, not expired, and show your photo and birthdate clearly. We cannot accept blurry screenshots or photocopies.

Payment card rules

Have the same credit card you used to pay online ready at the door. We will match the name and last four digits to the order. We cannot release the package if the card is missing or the name does not match the ID. This rule also applies to corporate or family cards: use a card that bears your name when you place the order.

Why we can’t leave deliveries unattended

We are not allowed to leave orders at the door, with neighbours, or with building staff. The person who paid online must be present with valid ID and the matching card. If no one answers, the driver will try to contact you by phone. If we still cannot reach you, support will arrange a new window; a redelivery fee may apply because we have to make a second trip.

Steps for apartments, condos, and townhomes

1. Add buzzer and unit details in the order notes so the driver reaches you quickly.
2. Meet in the lobby if your building requires it. Bring your ID and the card used online.
3. Keep pets secured before you open the door so the handoff is safe and fast.

Hotel deliveries

Many hotels ask for lobby handoff. When you place the order, note your hotel name and add “lobby meet” so the driver knows where to find you. Bring your ID and the same card used online. We cannot deliver to a hotel room without meeting you face-to-face.

Timing window and late-night orders

Most deliveries arrive within 45 minutes to 2 hours. If you order after 10:00 PM, we complete the handoff after the store closes at 12:00 AM (midnight). Weather and traffic can add time. Keep your phone nearby in case the driver calls with a quick question about access or parking.

What to do if you lose your card between order and delivery

Contact us right away so we can cancel the order and protect your payment. For security, we cannot release a delivery when the card can’t be verified at the door. Place a fresh order with your replacement card when you’re ready.

Privacy at the door

The ID and card check is visual only. We verify name, photo, and birthdate and confirm the last four digits of the card match the order. We do not store photos of your ID at the door.

FAQ

Can someone else accept my order if they have my card?

No. We must verify the ID of the person who paid online, and the name must match the payment card.

Can you leave it with a concierge or neighbour?

No. We never leave cannabis orders unattended or with third parties.

What if my legal name changed?

Use a payment card that matches the name on your current ID, or update your ID first. If the names don’t match, we cannot complete the handoff.

Do you accept digital wallets?

If you used a digital wallet online, still have the linked physical card ready at the door so we can verify the last four digits and name.
